Our comprehensive purpose is to honor our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by carrying out his command to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19–20). Specifically, we believe God has called us to focus on reaching those in Weldon and the surrounding areas who do not regularly attend any church.

We want to share Christ with peoples of all ages, and from all backgrounds.

We also want our local churches to support the national mission of the Church of England

Reaching out to the isolated.

Being able to pay our Parish Share - able to support a children’s worker, youth worker, able to give 10% to missionaries work.

Supporting community ventures. Being part of the community and supporting events (like the PH funday, Weldon festival). Celebrating big events (Remembrance Day) with community.

Working closely with the local schools, incl The Corby Buisness Academy.

Where the church is centre - the hub - of the community.

A welcoming church, open to all. Children are excited to join us...and adults exciting to have children in church.

Loving, learning, laughing.

Knowing our community well enough to reach out to the various ethnic groups represented in our area.

Thriving church on Priors Hall in 10 years time.

Obvious stepping-stones for the unbeliever (eg. welcome lunch - Word 121 - CE - DE). A clear pathway for all people to come to Christ and mature.

Hospitable, opening up our homes, doing things more as a family (and less individually)

Using occasional offices to share in God's blessing to our community

Supporting wider missional work, beyond our boundaries,

- Partnership with other like-minded local churches

- Partnership with overseas missionaries.

Making Disciple-making disciples

A Church with a heart for sharing Good News

When Jesus was pushed to answer the question; "what is the most important thing?", Jesus answered "Love your God with all your heart and love you neighbour as yourself". We see both of these truths as the key to a thriving church community. Firstly we are called to worship our loving God and secondly we are called to serve one-another.

St Mary the Virgin has been an active church in Weldon for the past 800 years and has been able support the Weldon community. We hope to continue in that tradition as we seek new and creative ways to be "Good News" to Weldon.
